The bulkhead on a Land Rover Defender or Series Rover is one of the most structurally important body assemblies on the vehicle, acting as the firewall between the engine bay and the cab while also serving as the primary mounting point for the windscreen, door hinges, and numerous interior components. Unfortunately, it is also one of the first areas to suffer from corrosion. Moisture collects in the upper corners of the bulkhead around the vent apertures, trapped behind seals and in panel folds where it cannot easily escape, and over time the steel in that area begins to thin, pit, and eventually perforate. The DA4065N from Britpart is a precision-formed steel repair panel that addresses exactly this location, covering the left hand upper section of the bulkhead and providing a sound base for welding in a clean, solid replacement for the corroded original material.
