The exhaust gas recirculation system is one of the hardest-working emissions and combustion management circuits on the 3.0-liter TDV6 Gen2 diesel engine. At its core is the EGR valve, which meters and routes a precisely controlled volume of exhaust gas back into the intake tract. By reintroducing cooled exhaust gas into the combustion air charge, the valve lowers peak in-cylinder temperatures and significantly reduces the formation of nitrogen oxide emissions. When EGR valves begins to stick, leak, or fail outright, the result is typically rough idling, increased smoke output, reduced throttle response, fault codes related to EGR flow or position, and in some cases a forced limp mode from the engine management system. This is the right-hand bank EGR valve assembly for Land Rover and Range Rover models fitted with the 3.0-liter V6 TDV6 Gen2 diesel engine, manufactured by Pierburg under part number 7.05590.03.0.
