LR071942 Mahle Air Filter fits Discovery Sport RR Evoque

LR071942 is the Mahle engine air filter element for the Discovery Sport L550 and the Range Rover Evoque, covering both the L538 and the later L551. It is the flat panel element that drops into the air cleaner housing, supplied as one filter. The air filter is the cheapest part on the intake side and the one that quietly costs you the most when it is left too long. A clogged element starves the turbo, dulls throttle response and makes the engine work harder for the same air. On the 2.0 liter AJ200 family it is a glovebox level job, no special tools, and it is worth doing on schedule rather than on symptoms. This element covers both the diesel and the petrol/gas versions of the 2.0 liter four cylinder across all three platforms, which is unusual and useful, because it means one number covers a Discovery Sport and an Evoque sitting in the same driveway. FAQ Does this fit both the diesel and the petrol/gas Evoque? Yes. The factory catalogue lists this same element against the 2.0 liter AJ200 four cylinder in both diesel and petrol/gas form, on the L538 and the L551. Does it fit the new shape Evoque as well as the old one? Yes. It covers the Range Rover Evoque L538 from 2012 to 2018 and the Range Rover Evoque L551 from 2019 onward. How many filters come in the box? One. This is a single air filter element, not a set.
