Stretching the rear wheelbase of a 2-door Jeep JK by 10" requires more than moving the rear axle and opening up the wheel wells. When the factory rear sheet metal is cut away to accommodate the new axle position, the original interior wheel arch area is left exposed. This creates an unfinished opening inside the Jeep that needs to be addressed as part of the body fabrication. The Motobilt MB1264 Rear Inner Fender Panels are designed to cover that area and provide a finished interior appearance on a stretched Jeep JK. The MB1264 panels are designed specifically to work with the Motobilt MB1138 and MB1138-T rear corner guards for a 10" stretched Jeep Wrangler JK. These corner guards require cutting away the factory rear sheet metal to create the clearance needed for the stretched wheelbase. Once the factory metal has been removed and the compatible corner guards are installed, the MB1264 panels bolt into place to cover the exposed interior wheel arch openings. Constructed from aluminum, the panels provide a formed cover for the areas left behind by the factory wheel tubs. The kit includes both driver and passenger side panels, allowing builders to finish both sides of the rear cargo area. The MB1264 is intended for Jeep JK builders performing a complete 10" rear stretch rather than a standard wheel well modification. It integrates with the Motobilt stretched rear corner system to help finish the bodywork after the rear axle has been relocated. Designed and manufactured by Motobilt in Ozark, Alabama, these panels address one of the details that can easily get overlooked during a rear stretch build: finishing the interior after the factory wheel arches have been cut away.
