The Land Rover Discovery 5 L462 is genuinely capable straight from the factory, but without proper underbody armor, the trails will find your weak points fast. The Proud Rhino Rock Sliders give your Discovery 5 the protection it deserves, fabricated from 4.76mm (3/16 in) thick U.S. steel and designed to bolt directly to the frame for full sill to wheel well coverage on both sides of the Rover. These sliders are proudly made in the USA and finished with a zinc rich primer plus a satin matte black powder coat to withstand harsh trail abuse, mud, rock chips, and weather. Whether you are hitting off road parks, overlanding through the backcountry, or simply keeping your lower body panels intact during daily duty, these sliders deliver genuine protection without the fluff. The main body is fabricated from 4.76mm (3/16 in) U.S. steel, while the integrated tree bars use 38.1mm (1.5 in) schedule 40 tube for serious impact resistance. Frame mounted construction ties the sliders directly into the Rover's structural mounting points for uncompromising durability, and the extended underbody section adds additional coverage along the lower body and rocker area to deflect rock strikes and trail debris. An optional flat top plate doubles as a usable step for easy access without sacrificing ground clearance. These are also the same Proud Rhino sliders that Jaguar Land Rover North America selected and installed on the 2019 TReK Discovery 5 competition vehicles. If you have followed the TReK series, you know JLR does not put fluff or cosmetic gear on those Rovers. They run real off road equipment that has to survive real abuse, and Proud Rhino made the cut.
